Weapons

On this page you can find all GTA IV's weapons. If you want to know their spawning location, please visit the Weapons Guide.

Melee
Handguns
Shotguns
Sub-Machineguns
Assault Rifles
Sniper Rifles
Heavy Artillery
Projectiles

Melee
Fist

In GTA IV your fists are more valuable than before. Niko knows some great fighting moves which you can use to kick ass. They're the weakest of all the weapons but the counter combo can be lethal if done right.

Strength: Level 1
Rate of fire: Level 3
Baseballbat

A GTA ancient. Ever since the third game players have been able to enjoy smashing people's head in with this sports article. If you have a disagreement with somebody but your bare knuckles won't cut it, fight dirty and hit some balls with this tool.

Strength: Level 2
Rate of fire: Level 2
Knife

A plain, useful knife to cut up your enemies. About as strong as the baseball bat but a bit quicker and it's always fun to carve up some punk's face.

Strength: Level 2
Rate of fire: Level 3

Handguns
Pistol

Good old 9mm. Accurate and simple, can save your skin when your primary assault guns are out of ammo. A favorite amongst cops and starting criminals.

Strength: Level 3
Rate of fire: Level 3
Clip size: 17 rounds
Desert Eagle

If you want some more firepower than the 9mm you can use this little hand cannon. Stronger recoil equals bigger holes. Perfect to get rid of anyone who's in your way.

Strength: Level 5
Rate of fire: Level 2
Clip size: 9 rounds

Shotguns
Stubby Shotgun

Fast shotgun, great to mow down gangsters in narrow hallways. But like any shotgun, it has a horrible range.

Strength: Level 4
Rate of fire: Level 3
Clip size: 10 shells
Combat Shotgun

Stronger and slower than the stubby shotgun but it seems to be a bit more effective at longer rangers. Still, it's best to use it in closed spaces.

Strength: Level 4
Rate of fire: Level 2

Sub-Machineguns
Micro-Uzi

This useful little tool fires 9mm bullets at a fast enough speed to quickly take down anyone who's stupid enough to fight you. It's also a favorite for drive-by's.

Strength: Level 3
Rate of fire: Level 5
MP10

Kind of the big brother of the micro-uzi. It's stronger and shoots further but has a bigger recoil which requires you to take more time to shoot it. Still, it's light enough to perform drive-by's with.

Strength: Level 3
Rate of fire: Level 4

Assault Rifles
AK-47

A favorite. Seems like every game with guns has this baby. And there's a good reason for it. It's strong and fires a long distance, ideal to take down far away targets quickly.

Strength: Level 4
Rate of fire: Level 5
Clip size: 30 rounds
M4 Carbine

Favorite in the US army. Stronger than the AK-47 but it also comes at a price... If you can afford it, get it. It'll probably be your most used weapon later on in the game.

Strength: Level 4
Rate of fire: Level 4
Clip size: 30 rounds

Sniper Rifles
Sniper Rifle

Standard sniper rifle if you need to get rid of targets from a distance, preferably without being seen. Usually 1 shot, 1 kill but with a slow rate of fire.

Strength: Level 5
Rate of fire: Level 2
PSG1 Sniper

Sniper with a fancy laser on it to tag your targets even more easily. Pretty much the same thing as the original version but shoots faster.

Strength: Level 5
Rate of fire: Level 2
Clip size: 20 rounds

Heavy Artillery
RPG (rocket launcher)

Short for Rocket Propelled Grenade. If you need to get rid of strong targets fast, like take down a helicopter, this is your best choice. Hard to hit moving targets with but when it hits, you can be sure that the target is dead.

Strength: Level 5
Rate of fire: Level 1

Projectiles
Grenades

Not much to say about this one, pull the pin and throw it away. Or hold it for a few seconds so your unfortunate enemies don't have the time to run away when they see it rolling towards them.

Strength: Level 5
Rate of fire: Level 1
Molotov Cocktails

A pyromaniacs favorite weapon. A bit of alcohol in a bottle with a cloth on fire muffled in it. Throw it away and watch everything go up in flames. Also useful for impatient barbecuers.

Strength: None, although the fire it produces is usually lethal.
Rate of fire: Level 1

RPG is a short for Rocket Propelled Grenade, and not the name of the weapon, infact all weapons that shoot a rocket is a RPG like a regular Bazooka.

They could have more Heavy Artillery but they only put the RPG in but it is still good

Are these all the weapons? In the parts before this one there were many more. Still- I played GTA IV, it's fantastic. But expected more weapons.
