Avery Carrington - Washington

Four Iron
-------------

Difficulty: Easy
You have to kill a guy at the golf court for Avery. He gives you a golf membership
so you can get in there. First you need to change clothes though. Drive to the
Jocksport and change clothes by walking into the purple marker. Now go to the
entrance of the golf court, and watch the mission briefing. Do not enter the
golf court through the gates: you will lose all your weapons, so it will be
more difficult to kill your target. Instead, try to get in another way (there
are plenty). If you have access to the second Island you can get a helicopter
and land somewhere on the court. If you haven't got access to the second island
get, find a PCJ motorbike somewhere, and drive to the Pay 'n Spray near the
golf court. Now get in the same position as showed here:
Now give full gas and drive towards the corner of the platform
you see in front of you. You will jump over the water and land safely on the
golf court. Drive to your victim, kill him with any weapon you like, and the
mission will be completed. [up]
Demolition Man

Difficulty: Hard
A new office block that's being build stands in the way of Avery's plans for
that place, so you'll have to demolish the building while Avery is out of town.
You will get a radio controlled helicopter to do this, plus four bombs and a
seven minute time-limit. I've heard a lot of people complaining this mission
was too hard, so I will try to give some advices in how it can be done easier.
And believe me: this mission is not impossible. I managed to beat this mission
while still having 2:35 minutes on the counter, and it can probably be done
even faster. Anyway, here are the tips:
First, and most important of all: you must be able to control helicopters very
well. Be sure you have your controls configured a way you're comfortable with,
and then practise a lot with helicopters, try to do stunts and stuff. The best
training can be found at the airport: there's a Topfun van parked there. If
you get in, you can practise with the RC helicopter in a checkpoint race. Important
keys when flying a helicopter in Vice City are the 'look left' and 'look right'
keys, which allow you to turn the helicopter without going forwards or backwards.
Once you have mastered the heli's controls, start the mission. After the mission
briefing, get in the Topfun van, but do not pick up any bombs yet. First go
to the construction place to find out what it looks like, where all bombs must
be placed and where the stairs are (of course you can also do this before the
mission starts). Workers will start to attack you when they see you, but if
you fly very low they will get killed by the heli's blades. Kill everyone at
the construction place before you do anything else. You must be able to fly
inside the building without hitting any walls or ceilings. If you cannot do
this, then I can almost assure you that you have not enough flying skills to
complete this mission, or at least it will be very hard.
Notice the way the stairs go and the way the bombs must be placed: the first
bomb spot is at the West side of the building, the second at the East side of
the building, the third West again, and the fourth East again. If you remember
this you can get to the bomb spots quicker then when you have to look at your
radar everytime.
Once all the workers and guards at the construction side are dead, fly back
to pick up your first bomb. Be sure to have the RC heli facing towards the construction
side when picking up the first bomb, so you won't have to turn the first time
(ok, you'll probably only win two seconds with this, but every second is important
if you can't seem to pass this mission). Now pick it up, and fly to the construction
side as fast as possible. Always keep your 'lean forward' key pressed. Next
to that you should keep correcting your height by pressing your 'forward/up'
and 'backward/down' keys. This will also increase your speed.
Plant the bomb by pressing your 'fire' button while flying above the bomb spots.
Then go back as fast as you can to pick up another bomb, and keep repeating
this until you've placed all four bombs. Now here's something important: always
start by placing the first bomb on the lowest floor (on the ground), the second
one on the first floor of the building, the third one of the second floor and
the fourth one at the third floor. In other words: place the bombs from low
to high. This is important, because after the fourth bomb is placed you don't
have to go back. If you place the highest bomb last, you won't have to go all
the way down again, and this will save a lot of time compared to when you place
the last bomb somewhere else.
Once all four bombs are placed the building will explode, and your mission
will be completed. [up]
Two Hit Bit

Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Avery wants to create a gang war between the Cubans and the Haitians so the
prices in Vice City will drop, and you are the one that's going to arrange that.
You'll have to get dressed like a Cuban and then kill the lord of the Haitians
at the funeral of the previous Haitian gang lord. Notice a young Donald Love
in the intro movie.
Be sure to have a submachine gun with some ammo or a sniper-rifle with some
ammo, then drive to Little Havana for your outfit. Once you have it drive to
the place the funeral is. The Haitians must see you first before you can kill
the Lord, so approach carefully until they've spotted you. Stay on a distance,
get out of your car, take your sniper rifle and kill the Lord (he has a purple
arrow above his head). If he runs away and other Haitians start to run towards
you and start shooting at you, get in your car as fast as possible and drive
a little bit forward. Wait until the gang leader gets into his car and also
drives away. Follow this car, and get it burning by shooting bullets into it
using the drive-by method. Watch out for the coffins it drops: when you drive
over them they will start burning. Once his car catches fire he will get out.
Now simply overrun him, but watch out for other Haitians that might be around.
You've completed the mission as soon as he's dead and you are outside Little
Haiti. [up]

Love Fist / Kent Paul

Love Juice
-------------

Difficulty: Easy-Medium
The boys want to have something called 'Love Juice', and you'll need to get
the ingredients for it from a dealer in Downtown. Get a PCJ motor before you
start the mission. After the mission briefing go to the person that can deliver
you the ingredients. Drive to him, but drive into the purple marker facing the
road, so you don't have to turn after the cutscene. When you meet him, he will
steal your money and gets away on a PCJ. Simply catch up with him, then shoot
him from behind or drive next to him so you can kill him via the drive-by shooting
method. Grab the briefcase (and the money if you like) he drops. The mission
is not complete yet. The boys also want to have a girl coming over, so you'll
have to collect Mercedes from her apartment in Vice Point and bring her to the
V-Rock studio before the band gets on stage. This means you'll have a 1:30 minute
time limit in order to bring her there after you picked her up. When picking
her up, do the same as with the dealer: if you are facing the road when driving
into the marker, you don't have to turn after the cutscene, which will save
you some time.
Drive carefully back to the studio so you won't crash. Cause if you do, it
will cost you time to get back on the motor again. You've completed the mission
when you are back to the V-Rock studio with Mercedes within the timelimit. [up]
Psycho Killer
-------------

Difficulty: Easy-Medium
It seems that a psycho wants to kill Love Fist. Your task is to flush out the
killer at a signing-event in front of Rock City and then kill him.
If you want this mission to be easy, don't get into the limo yet after the
mission briefing, but go find a fast car (the Cheetah or Inferno are good choices).
I do not recommend a motorbike, since you can not allow yourself to fall off
it. Drive to Rock City (at the south end of the same street where the V-Rock
studio is), and park it somewhere. Then run back to the limo (do not
get into a vehicle, because if you do, your car at Rock City will disappear),
get in, and drive back to Rock City. Stop in the purple marker, watch the cutscene,
and then get out as fast as possible, and get into your other car.

Follow the psycho and don't lose him out of sight, because he is not visible
on your radar. Be careful while driving towards the Ammu-Nation: a trashmaster
will come out of an alleyway on your right when you approach and will block
the way. Keep ramming the psycho and do drive-by shootings until his car starts
burning. He will get out now, but if you drive away, the chance is big that
he stays with his car and also explodes. If not, turn around and drive over
him. [up]

Publicity Tour

Difficulty: Easy
Apperently you didn't kill the psycho, and he's back! He placed a bomb in the
Love Fist limo, which will detonate when you drive too slow (remember the movie
Speed?). The only thing you have to do in this mission is to just keep driving,
and don't go below a certain speed. There's a detonation-bar on the right side
of your screen. The slower you go, the more it fills. Once the bar is full the
car will explode. You must drive for about 1:50 minutes until Love Fist has
defused the bomb.
Start driving immediately once the mission starts. I once made the mistake
of reading the messages on the right-top corner of the screen before I wanted
to drive away, which resulted in the detonation of the bomb and therefore a
failure of the mission. Go as slow as possible, without filling up the meter
too much. Try to drive this way that you fill up the meter for about 2/3. Don't
just look on the meter, but also keep your eyes on the road from now and then,
so you won't crash. Any crash will be fatal. Be especially careful when making
turns (try to make as few as possible) that you don't slow down too much and
that you don't crash into other cars.
The best thing to do is to take the road to your left (the road that leads
to Prawn Island) as soon as the mission starts (you have to turn around), and
then when you reach the Ammu-Nation go right. Now you can just keep driving
down the large road. Keep driving forward, and then after a while make a wide
turn left to enter Starfish Island. If you drove well, the bomb will be defused
just after leaving Starfish Island.
Now just drive back to Downtown, and stop in the purple marker in front of
the Love Fist building to complete the mission. [up]

Mitch Baker / Biker
Gang - Downtown

Alloy Wheels of Steel

Difficulty: Easy-Medium
You'll have to persuade Mitch Baker and his Biker Gang to be the protection
for Love Fist at one of their shows. To do this, you must become a member of
the Gang by proving yourself to them in three missions. In the first one you
must show that you can handle a bike pretty well, by finishing first in a race
against three of the Biker Gang's members. You will be driving either an Angel
or Freeway (both are the same, but the Angel has the USA flag on it).
This is not as hard as it seems. Really, the members of the Biker Gang can't
race that well. They will crash several times and take very wide turns. The
thing to do is not too rush. If you crash yourself you still have a chance of
winning (even after crashing two times), but if you just take it easy and don't
fall off your own bike, that chance is much bigger.
What you should do is let the other bikers get away at the start. Do not try
to pass them yet, the chance is big that they will hit you and you will crash.
Just let them get away: they will crash themselves pretty soon, so you'll get
your chance to take the first place. Now just relax, drive well, make nice turns,
and you should win easily. Before each turn slow down by pressing the 'brake'
key, then make the turn by pressig your handbrake + left or right key. Again,
if you take your time and don't rush too much, you should be able to win easily.
One overall tip (same as for The Driver mission): do not try to do this mission
when it's raining. It's nearly impossible to win, since your bike will slide
all over the roads. The funny thing is that the same happens to your opponents,
so it is good for a laugh though.
Another piece of advice: don't bother to park cars or other vehicles in front
of the bikers before you start with the race: it won't really slow them down,
and believe me, I've tried it. [up]
Messing with the Man
-------------

Difficulty: Medium
You will have to show the city how pissed you are. Don't ask why, just do it.
You'll have to create a lot of chaos, so the chaos-meter will fill up. You must
fill the whole bar within two minutes in order to complete the mission.
This is not that hard. Just get some weapons with ammo before you start the
mission. Molotov Cocktails, a Colt (together with about 200 bullets) and a Rocket
Launcher with some rockets will do. Now create some havoc already before you
start the mission. A two-star wanted level will do. Then start with the mission.
After the mission briefing, run immediately to the stairs that lead to the roof
of the building opposite the Greasy Chopper. Get up, and walk to the end of
the roof (shown in the picture below).
Now keep messing with your weapons until you have a three-star wanted level.
Best way to do this is by shooting on police cars with your Colt. Now wait until
a helicopter comes in. The only thing you have to do now is just keep shooting
at the helicopter with your Colt. Don't destroy it with your Rocket Launcher,
since it will explode then, and the bar will only fill up a little bit. If you
keep shooting with your Colt however, you'll be able to fill up the whole bar.
Kill any SWAT-members that might come out of the helicopter.
I've also heard about a trick that you can keep shooting on a car, even after
it has exploded, but this did not work for me, so it probably only works in
the Playstation 2 version of the game. An overall tip: play this mission in
the afternoon (ingame), so you can be sure there will be enough vehicles to
destroy. I once played it at night, and I couldn't get a third wanted-star,
because there were no cars at all on the streets, not even police cars.
Once you've filled the bar you've completed the mission. Your wanted-star level
remains though. No problem: just save your game at the Skumole Shack savepoint
(it's located on the same roof where you are), or buy it first if you didn't
own it already (it will only cost you $1000). Just save your game, then reload,
and your wanted-stars are gone. [up]
Hog Tied
-------------

Difficulty: Medium
Mitch Baker's bike has been stolen, and if you get it back for him he will
do the security for the Love Fist show. The only gun you need in this mission
is the sniper rifle, together with about 10 bullets. Go to the stairs you've
seen in the mission briefing and go all the way up. Don't take the jump though.
Take you sniper-rifle once you are on top of the stairs, and shoot the two guards
that are walking around on the roof above the Ammu-Nation. Now go back, and
search for a fence left to the Ammu-Nation. You can see another guard walking
when you look through that fence. Kill him with you sniper-rifle. Now get a
helicopter (best place to get one is the Hyman Condo of course, since it's very
close), and land on this roof:
Get out, select your sniper-rifle, and walk to spot A.
You should see a guy walking below you. Kill him, then walk to spot B.
You should see two guys guarding the bike. Be careful that they don't spot you,
it will be enough if you can see just parts of their bodies. Once again, kill
them with your sniper-rifle. Now if nobody spotted you the alarm didn't go off,
and you can go down safely (just jump off the roof, you won't take much damage).
Get on the Angel, and drive to the West (where the fence is). In case you were
spotted you must be quick: enemies will keep respawning, so it won't help to
shoot them. Just get on the bike as fast as possible when there aren't any guards
close to it (or else they will throw you off), and drive to the West.
You should see some stairs here (facing North). Drive up these
stairs so you will land on the streets (don't go too fast or you will jump too
far!). Then immediately go right. >Burrito's
will start hunting you now, so drive carefully and above anything else: don't
crash! Just drive back to the Greasy Chopper, and stay on the right side of
the road. Some Burrito's will be driving towards you, but they won't hit you
if you stay on the right side of the road. Once you are back at the Greasy Chopper
just drive into the purple marker and the mission is finished. [up]
